Appleton Luff Successfully Represents Mongolian Cashmere Exporters in EU Court Case
Appleton Luff International Lawyers, represented by David Luff and Marta Ledwos, has obtained a victory in Case T‑383/24: MNFPUG’s Sustainable Cashmere Market Place Srl vs European Commission.
MNFPUG’s Sustainable Cashmere Marketplace is an initiative aimed at promoting and marketing Mongolian cashmere, produced in a sustainable and fully traceable manner.
They demonstrated that the EU Commission erred in interpreting the scope of Regulation (EU) No 1151/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 November 2012 on quality schemes for agricultural products and foodstuffs in light of the TARIC nomenclature. The General Court confirmed that the term "wool" mentioned in the regulation includes cashmere wool.
